Hays High School needs your help. Currently the students at Hays High School take fitness and weight training classes in a room that is undersized and does not provide enough equipment or room to work on fitness drills. Therefore they have started the process to build a Fitness and Strength Training Facility on the Hays High campus. This facility has been on the drawing board for the school district since 2002; however, due to financial restraints, the school district is unable to fund this building on its own. The goal is to raise $300,000. There is an individual who will contribute $50,000 toward the project if we are able to raise $250,000 in private funds. There are a couple of ways you or your class can help out. First as a class project each class has been challenged to raise $1,000 toward the project. For each $1,000 raised, the class would get their name on a plaque in the commons area and an 8 x 8 brick with the class name on them. The bricks will be placed in a walkway in front of the new building. Another way to help out is to purchase a brick with your name or your family’s name on it. The 4 x 8 bricks cost $100 a piece. This is a great way to leave your mark on the Hays High Campus. Attached is brick order form for your own brick. Your contributions will be tax deductible and you will receive a receipt of your donation. Please send your cash donation to Hays High School at 2301 E. 13th Street, Hays, KS 67601. Make your check payable to the HHS Building FAST Project. The brick order form must accompany the donation. If you are sending a check for your class brick make sure you put the year you graduated so we can give your class credit towards their brick.
